Formula report - 2011 European Championships Rounds 5&6 Prague (Czech Republic) Autor: Administrator (marek.psenicka@centrum.cz), Téma: UCI Vydáno dne 11. 05. 2011 (4055 přečtení) Rounds 5&6 of the UEC Championships Series where held on the new BMX track in Praha-Bohnice, Czech Republic. The weather was great and so was the racing action. Bastien Merle, our Junior Mens Rider from France, was back after a small injury. He was looking good on the track. Saturday he stranded the Semis, but Sunday he made his way to the Main. He got strangled up in the pack at the first turn and finished in 7th place. In Elite Women, Sandra Aleksejeva was struggling to find her form and was eliminated in the motos on Saturday. On Sunday, she was riding more consistent and made the Final, finishing in 8th Place. Edzus Treimanis was going strong in Elite Men, although suffering from a heavy cold. He was hole-shotting and earning valuable points for his ranking. Saturday, he made it to the semis, but was eliminated with a 5th spot. On Sunday he made the Main. With a strong last straight he managed to fight his way to the second spot. With this podium finish, Edzus is now back in spot #3 of the European Ranking. Team Manager Nico van Dartel took 7th place in the Men 25+ Main on Saturday. A successful weekend for Formula Europe with all the competing team riders making the Main.
