Round 7 and 8 of the European Championship

ONE KENDA press release

Round 7 and 8 of the European Championship for Junior/Elite Men and Women were held in the Sopron, Hungary.

Round 1

The leader in the championship, Shanasze Reade, was out due to an injury.

So it would be an interesting race.

ONE/Kenda’s Magalie Pottier had a great weekend. She was dominating in the motos and winning in round 1.

In Junior Men Edzus Treimanis from Latvia made it to the main. Roy van den Berg crashed in the semi.

Edzus Treimanis finished in 7th.

In Elite Women, Blandine Cottereau was able to race after all. She disslocated her shoulder the week before the race, but managed to make it to the main, just like Czech Republic’s Aneta Hladikova. Blandine took 4th place and Aneta 5th.

In Elite Men Arturs Matisons from Latvia had an off day. The leader in the championship didn’t make it through the motos.

Maris Strombergs from got an 8th in the main.



Round 2

Magalie Pottier was lloking good all day, winning her motos. In the main she managed to finish in 3rd place and moving up to 4th overall.

Edzus Treimanis didn’t make it to the main. Roy van den Berg did and was aiming for 1st place but crashed in the last turn, dropping him back to 8th.

Roy is in 4th overall and Edzus in 5th.

In Elite Women Blandine Cottereau and Aneta Hladikova were both in main again.

Blandine took 7th and Aneta 4th.

Blandine is in 4th overall and Aneta 8th.

Elite Men, the last race of the weekend. Maris Strombergs didn’t make it into main. Arturs Matisons was back in shape, even though he crashed in the first moto.

Arturs won the main event again and is still leading the Elite Men championship, with Maris moving up to in 9th.

Next stop, round 9 and 10 in England
