Round 5 and 6 of the European Championship for Junior/Elite Men and Women were held in the Haaksbergen, the Netherlands.
This was ging to be a great weekend for racing. No rain, top riders and a good atmosphere.

Round 5
Junior Women is dominated by one girl, Shanaze Reade.
So 2nd place is open for the rest of the pack.
ONE/Kenda’s Magalie Pottier unclipped in the main and took 8th place. In Junior Men Edzus Treimanis from Latvia and Roy van den Berg from Holland made it both to the main. Roy had a great start and had to battle it out with Martijn Scherpen from Holland. In the end Martijn won with Roy in 2nd and Edzus Treimanis in 8th.
In Elite Women, Blandine Cottereau from France had a bad weekend weekend, but still made it into the main along with Czech Republic’s Aneta Hladikova.
Aneta is improving each week and a 3rd place was a great result. Blandine took 8th place.
In Elite Men Arturs Matisons from Latvia had a good lead already, but he was aiming for more. Maris Strombergs, also from Latvia (and the same club), had the fastest lap all day. His second and third straight were incredible, so a 2nd spot in the main was a great result, especially with team mate Arturs on 1st, who expanded his lead even more.

Round 6

Magalie Pottier had a better day. She finished in 2nd. again was fast. Magalie is nowThe slippery turns, due to the rain, made her slide away and crash. Magalie is now 8th overall, moving up again. Edzus Treimanis and Roy van den Berg both made it to the main again. Edzus took 6th and Roy took 3rd after he totally missed his gate. Roy is in 3rd overall and Edzus in 6th.
In Elite Women Blandine Cottereau and Aneta Hladikova were both in main again.
Blandine took 7th and Aneta crossed the finishline in 4th.
Blandine is in 4th overall and Aneta moved up to 8th.
Elite Men was the last race of the weekend. Maris Strombergs didn’t make it into main when he missed the gate. Arturs Matisons once again had the holeshot. Arturs won again and is leading the Elite Men championship, with Maris in 10th.
